Can a glass or two of wine prevent a mini stroke?

My daughter just upset me so much I’m a nervous wreck and remembered we have a bottle of Spumonti ? or something like that in our fridge. Can a glass help me avoid a stroke? It’s sparkling and the bubbles look so pretty going up to the top like a holiday something or other. See? I’m cracking up.

Go ahead and have a glass of wine, @Aster, it really will help bring your blood pressure down and help calm your mind.
Ethanol, the main alcohol component found in wines, beer, liquors, and other alcoholic beverages, is classified as a central nervous system (CNS) depressant – a substance that can slow down brain activity. Thus, the ingestion of some will have a physiological relaxing effect, whether or not one gets tipsy.
If you have ever had a sudden serious shock (almost being hit by a car, for example) a shot of some kind of liquor, while not enough to impair, will likely calm you, stop the shaking, slow down the racing thoughts, etc. It is a physical response. If you ingest more than one “to relax”, then you are likely looking to get a little buzz as well, but the one will actually relax you.
TIA or mini strokes can be caused by many physical conditions. Being “Upset” is not usually one of them.
But have a glass of wine or Spumonti for me.
Maybe. It sure couldn’t hurt…
Yes, it can. The reduction of stress afforded by a glass of wine will be a benefit.
Drinking alcohol can also increase your risk of having a stroke or TIA
If you can wait about 6 hours I’ll have one, too. That way you are not drinking alone.
Alcohol also thins the blood. I think that can help prevent strokes. Similar to why aspirin is helpful.
I had two small glasses and could actually feel my pulse going down. It worked so well I was surprised! So glad I have almost the entire bottle left!
