How do you feel about a robot gaining citizenship?

Granted it was Saudi Arabia so maybe this holds less weight. Still interesting though.

There are quite a few videos on this robot named Sophia.

It would slow people from seeing robots as cheap labour. They might be second class citizens for a bit. People are always looking for slaves , immigrants or robots to do our dirty work for us

It’s silly. They are “ranking” robots above women.

It’s nonsense. A weird press stunt for attention. Sophia isn’t a person and is clearly programmed to say things as if there were an intelligence and understanding far beyond what it is. It’s an insult to everyone’s intelligence and/or possibly a social gullibility / stupidity experiment.

I think it’s nuts.

I am all for it.

It’s a bit odd especially in a country where women aren’t allowed full citizenship. Maybe the criterion for female citizenship is subservience.

Pure publicity stunt. Hanson is a great marketer.

One could make the case that here in the US we have millions of citizens who are nothing but robots. (Stepford Wives, anyone?)

Silly idea.

About as irritated as declaring that corporations are people.

A stupid concept.
