Putin accuses U.S. of election meddling: why didn't we see this coming?

Sounds like schoolyard “Nyaa nyaa” to me.

That is a bit of a stretch on Putin’s part, or a tacit admission of Russian politicization of their athletic programs.

A very peculiar accusation. It makes me think that Putin has found no evidence of US tampering with Russian elections but he feels guilty about interfering in the US elections and this is his response.

The perfect response would be,
Prior to Mr. Putin’s statement, we had no reason to believe that the Kremlin was linked to the doping incidents.

If he can prove it, we’re in trouble.
