Can I just pour the copper sulfate in the toilet?

Asked by Dutchess_III (47139points) November 17th, 2017

I got some copper sulfate to control the roots in the sewer lines. I read one thing that said I can just pour less than ½ a cup into the toilet, but I can’t find it now.

Yes. It is often used as an algicide and fungicide.

Yes,. Pour it in and let it sit in your system for a few hours or overnight.
FYI, Copper sulfate use is restricted in some states.

@LuckyGuy I don’t know if it’s restricted in Kansas. I guess they’ll have to randomly check my sewer system to bust me!
