What font does Fluther use?
I recently managed to lose my account login on my phone. After several days of trying I managed to make a “new” account. It looks the same as my regular account, but it’s not. The thing is, I made the III with capital I’s (eyes) on my desk top. However, on my phone when I make a capital I (eye) it wants to include the horizontal lines at the top and bottom and Fluther wouldn’t accept it as mine. So I used lower case L’s, lll….
Can I change the font on my phone to match Fluther’s?

The font doesn’t matter as far as being accepted as a name. It’s the characters that matter there. The font is just the appearance of the letters, and the login will just look at the letters themselves.
For the question:
Fluther uses a couple different fonts, but most of the text is just a set of sans-serif options, that it goes through until it finds one that is on your device.
arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif
If you have Arial, it uses that, if not it looks for Helvetica, and then uses the defaults for “clean” or “sans-serif”.
Can I change the font on my phone to match Fluther’s?
Not really, although if it’s substituting another font, it might just be a default for the phone or browser, and sometimes you can change that. But again, that’s not what’s keeping you from logging in.
It did keep me from logging in, though. It said, “That account is already being used,” or something.
That would mean you were trying to set up an account with the same name you have already.
I promise, it wasn’t caused by the font.
@Dutchess_III you have TWO different accounts
@Dutchess_lll <=== this one is on your phone only and
@Dutchess_III <===== on your desktop PC.
Horizontal lines ? ? Do you mean “I” versus “I”
? ? ?
Yes, I know I have two different accounts. And yes I mean the capital i with the attending cross bars.
That’s the font on your cell phone not Fluther. The crossbars means it is a capital letter “I”
on your mobile phone.
If I’m correctly interpreting what you are trying to say is you have two accounts one with Dutchess_III and another with Dutchess_iii, is that correct? But that shouldn’t be the case normally as user names aren’t supposed to be “case sensitive” as a thumb rule otherwise it will create chaos. It’s not about font but treating capital and small letters of a word differently which shouldn’t be the case for username but fine with password. Please correct me if wrong.
@Dutchess_III We can’t help you with the fonts, but we could delete the extra account and reset your password for the original one. Send me a PM if you’d like us to do that, please.
imrainmaker She has an account with Dutchess_III
and one on her phone with Dutchess_lll the second one is lower “L’s”. that is if I understood her input issue.
Ohk..those are L’s..) I was wondering how’s that possible to have username based on case. Thanks for clarifying!!!
I’ll let you know @longgone. Thanks.
@Tropical_Willie I know it was the font on my phone. I was hoping to change the font on my phone.
