What is the difference between an anxiety attack and a panic attack?

Not a whole lot really. The symptoms are generally the same. Anxiety attacks result from some form of stress and are usually short in duration. Panic attacks strike without cause and last longer.

I would say that an anxiety attack is a state of nervousness and unease. A panic attack has an additional element of terror,a sense of some impending catastrophe, although its exact nature may not be known.
