Did not using laundry soap shrink my shirts?
I lost my laundry soap ( expensive soap from health good store) and washed most of my shirts on hot water and no soap. I haven’t checked my shirts. The first shirt was shrunk. I can but new xxl shirts from Wal-Mart tomorrow. Should I buy more unsented soap or can I watch my shirts again with out soap?

Just not using soap can’t cause shrinking, Hot water depending on the material can though. There is no tag with the instructions I guess?
Edit lady from health food store said that my shirts srank because of hot water. Bought more unscented laundry soap. Checking other shirts to see if they shrank too. Edit edit other shirts not shrunk. Phew. Only checked one shirt. Will try them all now. Edit
Checked all of my shirts only the first one I picked was shrunk. Yeah! Saved myself $100 in replacement shirts.
Yup, hot water will shrink a shirt or jeans.
@RedDeerGuy1 IMHO It was not something you did not do. My bet is the hot water you did use caused the shrinkage. Dang! That’s a bummer!
@si3tech Only one shirt shrunk. Im grateful that I checked all of my shirts instead of buying a new set of shirts.
It was the hot water.
I wash shirts in medium warm water, and hang dry.
@flo No. I washed them together. The shirt that shrank was a new shirt. Cost $15. I can wear it under my hoodie. Every thing is fine. Just anxious about nothing.
The dryer can shrink them too.
If you find yourself out of detergent again just throw a couple of clean towels in. They have enough soap left in them from when they were washed to provide some soap.
I had once put my woollen sweater accidentally with normal load and it shrunk so much that I wasn’t able to use it later. It was my favourite one:(
