Advil, and lots of ginger tea.

I’m wishing you visions of sugarplums. But what exactly is a sugarplum? Sounds like a bargain basement hooker. And a sugarplum fairy— ?

The stomach helps neutralize the bacteria from the phlegm so you should be fine. But it might make you a bit stomach-sick.

I would imagine it’s safe, I have been doing it for as long as I can remember.

You can do it, but ew, right?
If you do the best you can to break it up and discharge before sleeping, it will reduce what you swallow.
Spraying nasal saline, which is merely salt water, helps to loosen so you can blow clear the blockage. If you have non on hands, it can be made. I don’t have a link, but you can search the appropriate ratio online. I should think “making nasal saline” should find you what you need.
I hope you find peaceful, healing rest, friend. I wish for you a happy Christmas holiday.

Why not go to see the docter?

When I used to work in the medical field, we had an expression; “better out than in.”

Keep a garbage can by your bed, and get that stuff out.

It’s safe to swallow phlegm. The stomach acids make work of any virus or bacteria in it.

It is safe to swallow. All the bad stuff will get destroyed by your stomach acids.
