Do animals that have branded (horses, cattle) remember who branded them and caused them pain?
Are they savvy enough to avoid the person who branded them?
Is the large farm animal thinking process advanced enough to take revenge?

I don’t think they would remember who branded them but I believe they know enough to shy away from a person who repeatedly abuses them.
I think we may not know, and it probably depends on the specifics of the encounters and how long ago it was.
Horses and cows on farms that treat them badly tend to be so ill-handled that they’re unlikely to be aggressive, and any sign of aggression probably leads to punishment and/or death.
Let’s conduct a study where we put industrial farm workers who abuse animals in a pen with the large farm animals they have abused, and see which of them get trampled and if it corresponds with which workers abused which animals or not.
