Is princess Leia really a princess?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24987points) January 11th, 2018

1) She was adopted
2) Her home planet of Alderon was destroyed.
What makes her a princess anyway?

She was the secretly adopted daughter of Bail Organa, a member of the royal family of Alderaan, and the secret daughter of Queen Amidala of Naboo. She is a princess of both families.

@filmfann So does that make Luke a prince? Seeing he is the son of Queen Amidala?

She’s a princess by both birth and adoption. And before the destruction of Alderaan her adoptive parents made it clear that she was their one and only heir, and the people of Alderaan recognized her as rightful heir to the crown. Although by the time of the Force Awakens (around 35 years after the destruction of Alderaan) she no longer uses her inherited title, preferring to be addressed by the title she’s earned, general.

And yeah, Luke would be a prince, technically speaking. But it doesn’t appear that he ever cared about such titles.

Who cares… I always thought she was hot. And Han Solo was a moron for being a
jerk towards her.

Didn’t exactly drive her away though, did it?
