Would Trump's doctor appointment today provide him with a good, face-saving reason to resign?

Asked by elbanditoroso (33553points) January 12th, 2018

Trump is having his annual physical today.

What do you think of this scenario?

- He knows he’s got political issues (ratings, inability to get things done with congress)

- He knows he has legal issues (Russia, Mueller investigation, etc.)

- He knows he has foreign policy issues. (self-explanatory)

So why couldn’t he come out of his doctor’s appointment and say something like “My doctor tells me I am not healthy and the stress will kill me.” And then he could resign.

Would that allow him to salve his ego and save face?

Would he be considered a hero for doing so?

Come on. You know the Orangutan better than that.
His ego will not allow him to even consider that he is doing anything wrong.

My hunch is once enough wall is built that it fills a single frame on a camera he will declare “JOB DONE” and step down.

Oh… Money laundering and his kids going to prison. This dude is going to cling to power forever. Gotta stay in office long enough to pardon.

What a good idea. I wish good ideas had any appeal for him.

That would still require a level of humility that I don’t think he’s capable of.

I’m pretty sure he probably has super high cholesterol, and possibly diabetes, and maybe heart disease, but he wouldn’t want to admit to anyone that he has any medical conditions, because he thinks sick people are weak. Why do you think he wants to take away people’s health care?

The physical is just for show. If any negative health issues were revealed, the stock market wouldn’t do well. Trump himself opined this. Almost as if saying “try and say something, and the economy will suffer.” More bullying tactics.

I personally hope he gets a clean bill of health. I agree that he’s in terrible shape, and any discoveries by the doctors could benefit Trump. If they see something, I hope they omit telling him…

Things like, “you will have a fatal heart attack in 2 months unless you get surgery”.
They should keep quiet about that.

^That’s what I meant…

Or no, Mr. Trump, you don’t need that insulin, here let me have that and I’ll just put it away for you.
