Hello,
I am a 20 something girl who is right now without a job and living again with her parents after I came back home from an internship. In this moment of my life I have two options:
– Stay in my home town waiting to get a proper job (it could take some time)
– Go back to the country I worked before and do there an internship that is unpaid.
I dont know what to do because if I stay home with my parents I could safe some money meanwhile I am searching for jobs, but if I do the unpaid internship I could earn some experience which is good and a plus to get a job.
What should I do?
Thank you very much for your time.

I would take it easy and read library books on multiple subjects.
Welcome to Fluther!
Since you have already partook in an unpaid internship, I don’t see the point in doing it again. You said you were a 20 something, so it’s time to start earning money. You could take a part time job while looking for a job in your field to help pull your weight in your parents house. You should pay them something for letting you live there. Perhaps pay one of the bills such as the cable bill each month.
Good luck.
What college did you go to? And what do you think you are good at?
My advise is that you take the spare time you have as a vacation to see the world, expand your social network, or do whatever you like. For after you’ve got a job you’ll probably ended too busy to enjoy your life anymore. You won’t be 20 something twice in your life so enjoy the most of it while it last. If you feel ambitious you can always take one or two part-time job and at the same time keep on sending your resume to different companies and wait for the interview. Follow your heart’s desire.
Get fucking paid.
Internships are pretty much the biggest scam ever. Why pay gullible people that work for free? The next years graduates will fill your role when your parents stop feeding you and you need a real job.
Stay at home and get a job. You have had an internship, go for the paying job. If you go for the internship again, you are tied up and not looking for a job, you are losing money, and you aren’t gaining much more than you have already. I guess another thought might be: why can’t you stay at home and get an internship while you look for work?
It is a calculated risk. If you do the internship, would you be able to expand your expertise beyond what you did previously? If not then it is probably not a good idea.
