With the Korean War going as long as it is, what would Korea look like in the future? Will the war still be going on or would it be resolved?

It will still be located about half way between China and Japan – that won’t change.
The question is: will the authoritarian North Korean regime continue to exist, or will, at some point in the next 50 years, it fall and become less of a one-man state?
It’s hard to say. History tells us that family-based governments tend to fall after a generation or two – there are any number of examples, Syria being a good one. I don’t see Kim Jung Un’s kid taking over. I think the dynasty dies in this generation.
I just can’t imagine that the North Korean people will remain in the dark for that much longer. At some point, they are going to realize that their neighbors in China and South Korea are much better off.
Like the rest of the world, trying to survive human-industry-caused global catastrophes.
The entire globe may look different. A sea level rise, would change a lot. Even a foot…
My thinking is that the family regime will be replaced by some other tyrant. The best thing that could happen would probably be letting South Korea absorb the North. They are the closest culturally, and seem to care about the people in NK.
If the regime topples without a plug and play government, it could get real bad fast. I’m not sure what Russia, and China would do with all the refugees. Generations of unhealthy, uneducated, and brainwashed people who have little to no job skills. Whomever inherited the people would essentially be getting a population in need of government aide.
I’m hopeful, but I don’t see a good ending to the conflict…
