Retirement. I don’t know if it’s worth the wait yet. I haven’t retired.
My dad was dead and my mom was in prison when I tried to apply fo FAFSA. The difficulty here is that they wanted my mom to sign stuff and send it back (she also needed documents proving she was in prison). This takes forever. So long that the documents were considered invalid when they showed up 8 months later.
So I was stuck. I had to wait until I was 24 to apply for financial aid to attend college. At 24 you no longer need to give any info about your parents.
My self-esteem. I didn’t really have much control over how long it took but yeah – it’s been worth the wait.
@chyna Retirement is delightful.
I’m still trying to figure out what I’m going to be when I grow up. Since my ostensible retirement date is coming up any time now (this year? possible but unlikely) I guess I’d better figure that out soon.
Another vote for retirement. It is great!
Adulthood aka the American Dream. The FT job, the home, the husband, the credit cards, the mortgage-all of it. Highly overrated.
The “acceptance” stage of having a disability.
“Wait” isn’t the right word. I clawed my way to where I am now.
To have my own apartment.
I have to agree with @Mariah
and yes…it was like clawing my way there!
My thirteenth birthday. It felt like centuries. Now I can’t wait until I’m fifteen. But I’m still
thirteenth.
When I showed my kids the Star Wars films, I made sure to tell them we had to wait 3 years to see Han released from the carbonite.
