Is 8:58am measurebly more brighter than 1:11am?
Not the outside brightness , but the actual brightness of the numbers on the digital clock. In lumens is there a difference? Does it affect your sleep?

Yes. 13 line’s more bright.
@Pinguidchance I mean the actual digital alarm clock. 8 is brighter than 1 because It uses more lines. 8 uses 7 lines and 1 uses 2 lines. My question is how much brighter is 8 than 1? How many lumens brighter is 13 lines brighter on an alarm clock? Can that mess with ones sleep?
It can, especially if you or your subconscious is thinking about it a lot, as it apparently is.
Digital alarm clocks, use the most light to create the number 8. It’s basically a 8, on each placement. The appropriate sides light up, to represent each character. The more a character has in that box, the brighter it will be. As there is more light required to fill each space. So. 8 is the brightest, and the closet to that number’s appearance, the brighter (or more light is required. )
So. I would opine, that 8:58, is brighter.

Measurably, maybe; noticeably, I doubt it.
My clock radio has a “dim” function and I keep it as dim as possible. So, while it is quite possible that having all the lines lit up at 8:08 may emit somewhat more light than 1:11, mine is set so low that it simply wouldn’t be noticeable.
Clocks tend to not give off very much light, but some give off more than others. In a very dark room (like if you live away from outside lights, and/or you block your windows with something solid), a clock might seem fairly bright in the direction it points – I have slept with people who want a hotel room clock (and/or a annoying wall-mounted TV or player readout that doesn’t turn off) to be turned off or buried under a pillow, and certainly not facing in their direction.
I think it’s not so much a mechanistic “OMG the clock light! It’s 47 lumens! Too much!” as the awareness of something shining in the room when a sensitive person wants to relax and sleep. When the rest of the room is dark, even a dim light that stands out in the relative darkness gets attention, and for some people trying to clear their minds for sleep, the fact that it’s accurate signalling the exact minute of the inexorable march to them being obliged to stop resting, can be nerve-wracking (same with physical digital clocks that would flip a panel each minute, barely audibly… unless you’re trying desperately to get to sleep).

Impressive @Zaku ! By your calculation, the “brightest” would be 10:08 !
However, my clock has a very faint light background, and the numerals are defined by areas that are not lit, so 11:11 is the “brightest” while 10:08 is the darkest!
I would think so because a bigger area of brightness is displayed. But I’ll let someone else measure it.

10:08 is 8+6+7 =21
10:10 is 8+8 =16
10:18 is 8+ 2+7 = 17
10:08 is the brightest

@Dutchess_III By writing “each digit or hour position”, I hoped to communicate well enough that for the hour on a digital clock, that would include 10, 11, and 12, but for the digits of the minute portion, only 0 through 5 are valid for the 10’s digit, and 0 through 9 for the 1’s digit, since it’s a clock and presumably only showing valid times (and not in 24-hour mode – that would open up other possibilities, the best being 20:08). (If it’s broken and could show anything, then of course 88:88 is brightest.)
