Marco’s Pizza – they have stores in 34 states, so I guess they count as national.
Excellent pepperoni pizza for a chain.
Their delivery service, on the other hand, is poor.
The Penguin never uses a chain. My local Luigi’s is the best.
Frozen Pizza from the local supermarket.
@stanleybmanly -not to be picky, but Roundtable is in only seven states, all in the far west. I can’t see it qualifying as a national chain by any stretch of the imagination.
Which nation are we talking about here?
Not sure if you’ve heard of Pap. Murphys but they’re wonderful. Fresh ingredients, never frozen, anything from Thai to Cowboy and you bake at home so cheap. I’m picky and love them on occasion.
There really isn’t a decent National chain, except maybe Numero Uno, and they aren’t that big.
Regionally, RoundTable is pretty damn good.
Pizza Hut has good crust and pepperoni. Papa Murphy’s has the best pizza.
I know the northerners will get on me for this, but Papa Johns is my vote.
If I want a more northern style, I go with Andolini’s.
If I just want the absolute best, Mellow Mushroom can’t be beat.
What is the difference between Papa John’s and Papa Murphy’s? I get them mixed up. One of them has great pizza.
Papa Murphys sells ready to cook pizzas. Papa John’s sells them cooked…
@MrGrimm888 Ok Thanks. It’s Papa John’s that I like then.
Pizza Hut makes the best pineapple pizza.
I agree that there are always local shops superior to any chain. For me it’s LITTLE STAR. Cornmeal crust to die for.
I really like pizza, and each kind of pizza is good/different in its own way. I don’t think I could pick just one, although California Pizza Kitchen is one of the best.
I also like quite a few local mom and pop shops, and Little Caesers is pretty good, for a pie to feed 2 people, quickly, for super quick, and Cosctco has fantastic, giant slices for only $1.99. Whole Foods makes excellent fresh pizza too.
Papa Murphy’s hands down. We drive 40 miles at least once a month to get two of them. We bake one when we get home and freeze the other one.
