Has anyone tried that "PetiCure" gizmo they sell on television?

It’s supposed to file down your pet’s nails instead of clipping them. Seems to me it will scare the animal. Have you tried it? Is it worth buying?

I haven’t seen that specific product – I have seen grinders used on dog nails. They look and act like dremmal tools. I don’t use them because they take so much longer than just clipping the nails. (Although they do leave a nice smooth finish rather than sharp edges.)
Are you both serious? Filing a cat’s nails? I can’t get near enough to clip even one, in spite of a lovely muzzle I made for Milo out of a small paper cup, bottom removed, and strings on either side. Getting that on was not a super-success either.
Tomorrow we go to the local Animal Shelter-they do pedis and manis for a small donation. Only downside is that Milo will barf on the way home. This time I line the back seat with newspapers.
I know this can’t be the norm, but i have two cats that actually have let me file their nails.
On the other hand, I have a dog that SCREAMS like a freaky, demented child whenever she even sees the nail clippers. So, maybe I should try sanding hers!
