Everyone should die having spent their last penny on fun things!

Why not? Better than dying poor.

I think what you meant to ask is they should be giving back everything that have got from the society before they die. If that’s what you’re asking i think everyone who doesn’t have any dependent should follow this not just clergymen.

Some clergy members make vows of poverty, thus choosing to live and die without any wealth. Their sponsoring institutions provide their housing, food, clothes, and other necessities, both during working years and after retirement.

Other clergy support themselves and need to earn incomes, save resources, and make provision for their elderly years.

If you’re really asking about deceitful televangelists, illegally and unethically enriching themselves through good-faith donations, that’s another matter with a clear answer.

Clergymen and all women? or just clergy-women?

And do you mean should they try to die rich? Or are you asking is it wrong/immoral for them to die rich?

Are we talking the Pope or Mega-Church “Jesus wants me to have a Jet guy?”

What would be the point of evangelism otherwise?

John 14:2

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
