What will be the long term effects of this on US China relationship(details inside)?
As per latest reports Chinese President might continue for 3rd term or more like Mao. Steps are being taken in that direction. What do you think will be the impact on relationship with USA considering there will be same person heading the state?

To early to tell. It depends, somewhat, on if Trump declares the Constitution invalid and puts himself as the permanent president of the US. I wouldn’t mark that as impossible.
Having Xi in their for another 5 years isn’t good, long term, for China. Their economy is already beginning to stagnate, and more Xi (without fresh ideas) is going to make things worse, not better.
But too much can change in the next five years to worry about what happens after 2023.
I would expect more of the same. At least we know the leader, and how he operates.
Greater change will likely come from the US side, as Trump has said he feels we have poor trade negotiations. Whatever he tries to put in play, will have more consequences than a continued leadership in China.
I can also assume that China will not slow down their militarization of the South China Sea, and their sudden claims of ownership of the area. How China’s neighbors react to this, and however Trump feels we should respond, will determine the future.
