Why would the Russians prefer Trump in the White House?
Is it for the same reason they prefer to invest in his real estate projects and reside in his tacky hotels? Flies and manure?

Putin has videos of Trump in the Ukraine with underage females without a lot of clothes on, Trump or the girls.
It isn’t that Putin loves Trump. It is that he really fucking hates Hillary. If we are on election meddling. Trump was just a useful idiot.
There is a two part series on Frontline called “Putin’s Revenge” that lays it all out. Unfortunately they don’t have a easy way to link to the eps. So good luck. But it does a really good job of putting things together.
The actual details I don’t know, of course.
And it’s just not true that large modern countries are led mainly by one man, or even that governments do what they do mainly for easily-understandable nation-oriented reasons. There are many other agencies. One international group of inter-owned banks and companies owns most of the wealth on the planet. It’s not a game of thrones or of nations.
However, at some level, Putin and Russia have agendas. They want to be able to do things like solidify and increase their power particularly in countries of strategic import to them. They want to be able to do as they like in Ukraine and the Middle East without worrying about significant US opposition. They’d also like not to be under economic sanctions by the USA.
So, having an inexperienced clown for US president, who causes endless distractions and chaos in the USA and US-European relations, is dandy. Having a corrupt clown who’s in your debt is even better. Having him appoint Rex (Exxon) Tillerson to US Secretary of State, whose investments and friends in the oil industry stand to gain billions if the USA lifts sanctions on Russia, is extra-juicy.
I think if Putin takes another swipe at Eastern Europe, during Trump’s tenure, it will be obvious as to Putin’s motives.
Overall, destabilizing the US, is Putin’s goal. Well. Destabilizing the west. Buy putting Trump in power, the US was weakened tremendously. Even if we assume Putin has no direct control over Trump.
Fanning the flames in Syria, keeps all of Europe destabilized.
With Europe in the throws of having their political parties divided over nationalism, due to the massive influx of refugees, and the US also entangled by divisiveness Putin can focus on his nefarious agendas with far less worry of intervention from the west. Simultaneously making democracy look unpalatable, to his own citizens, whom he will manipulate to his gain, with less fear of losing power.
Trump is weak, malleable, inconsistent, and has no moral compass. His decisions are transactional and he can be easily fooled.
If you’re a foreign country, you want a weak idiot as your adversary.
Trump does not understand object permanence. He is only interested in issues that help him and benefit his interests.
Putin did not become so wealthy by working had in a factory. He has business interests all over the world. Trump makes a better ally than someone working for the country’s best interest.
Having him in office weakens the office and destabilizes the country allowing Putin to go after his own interests with less resistance.
Having heard Trump talk, he is obviously a Russian sympathizer.
Putin’s hackers are meddling in elections in many countries. He seems to be intent on destabilizing the Western world order. (And what better ally for that goal than Trump?)
Because they’re suckers for a lovski story & Don & Vlad are clearly shagging
@ucme Finally, an answer I can agree with!
Because America is a rival to Russia it suits Putin to have an incompetent fool in charge of the US. Trump demoralises his officials and divides the public. I think Putin is highly amused by Trump’s antics.
@KNOWITALL If you mean an answer from me then it gladdens my heart that you appear to have, at last, come to your senses somewhat.
And the Russians know how to play Trump. They knew they couldn’t play Hillary!
