How do you like your cheesecake?

Asked by janbb (63219points) March 16th, 2018

Creamy? Dry? With ricotta? With Philly? A crust? No crust? Fruit on top? No fruit on top?

Or do you not like it at all? Let out your inner Green Eggs and Ham and tell me what you think.

And no – this is not NSFW.

with ham and mushrooms and broccoli.

Cherry cheese cake without the cherries. But I’ll eat just about any cheese cake out there, unless it has nuts or is made with peanut butter.

pizza. it is literally a cheesecake.

Double creamy with graham cracker crust, maybe cherries (with kirsch mixed in).

janbb's avatar

@ragingloli More like a cheese pie.

Homemade with philly, a little lemon or lime, no topping. Mine are da bomb.

Nope. Cheese pie.

I like cheesecake with a dollop of double entendre.

SergeantQueen's avatar

@Call_Me_Jay Yep. That’s why it’s a Pizza Pie.

I like the one with the consistency of between chewy and solid as it gives satisfaction for each bites. No preference for the type of cheese as all cheesecake I found in most bakery didn’t mention the type of cheese used to make it (and I don’t bother to ask). And I like them cold. Now all this talk makes me want to eat cheesecake lol.

Creamy and can be pirced with a fork and stay standing. Cream cheese with whipping cream and a splash of lemon juice on gram cracker crumbs with caned cherry pie filling.

I’m answering for my husband, because I don’t like cheesecake (thank goodness). He likes it plain or a dulce de leche flavor. He likes it dense, like the cheesecake from cheesecake factory. Graham cracker crust, a little whipped cream on top, no fruit sauces.

KNOWITALL's avatar

@Jleslie Right! Those fruit sauces are nasty.

janbb's avatar

I’ve made a great one a few times but it is a lot of work. A pastry crust, not too soft but creamy and lemony filling and no topping. Haven’t made it in years though.

JLeslie's avatar

I’ve never made a cheesecake.

@janbb Did you use a spring pan? I’m just thinking I have two minis of those spring pans. Maybe I could make a mini cheesecake for him?

I do make flan. That’s the closest I come to that sort of dessert.

janbb's avatar

Yes, I used a spring form pan.

canidmajor's avatar

Oh, please provide a recipe! I have spring form pans that rarely get used…

janbb's avatar

It’s written out and long; I don’t have it online. You’ll have to die not knowing it. :-)

You have crushéd me. I am flat.

janbb's avatar

Tell you what. You can come to my house and make it here.

KNOWITALL's avatar

I never use a springform, just a nonstick stone dish. Works fine since they aren’t for display.

canidmajor's avatar

@janbb, I saw what you did there…

On my fork and ready to go into my mouth!
