Today is it possible to be born in saltwater?

Asked by luigirovatti (3002points) April 2nd, 2018

Because the child in the womb is in a saline solution and swims (yes, swims). So, when the child leaves the womb, s/he must have the same environment, and must swims, so the birthing for the child (AND the mother) is much easier. Studies also hold that babies are able to hold their breath underwater. No other comments.

It is done. You can make arrangements for birth. You just have to find people who want to support you whom you feel share your ideas and plans. If you search the Internet for “saltwater birth” you’ll find various resources, people, and varying opinions.

A woman supposedly walked off the beach into the Red Sea and gave birth, but there is some conjecture that it was actually a post partum bathing of the child in the sea.

There are a lot of water births; whether it is in salt water or not is up to the parents.

And then there are the women who give birth with dolphins, presumably in the sea.

Well, after they’re born they then need air, not the same environment as the womb, where they don’t need air.
I preferred to have my babies in the hospital.

I’d be afraid of drowning if I gave birth in the sea!!
