Although, it’s perpetual summer where I live, most of you probably live in areas where it has been cold. Now that it’s getting warmer, are you ready to replace the heavy stews and other hearty winter foods for lighter fare such as salads and sanwiches?
What foods are you looking forward to as the weather gets nicer?

We got about 3 weeks of overcast, cooler weather here. It was only in the 70’s instead of in the 80’s and 90’s like it usually is. I made a few casseroles, but now I’m ready to start making salads.
BBQ steak
BBQ burgers as well.
Garden produce, especially cucumbers, zucchini and tomatoes…yummy! Winter always makes me want to become a vegan, all the heavy meats and pasta.
Missouri keeps going from 70 to 30, sunny then snow, it’s crazy!
@KNOWITALL I’m going to the farmers market this weekend to get some yummy heirloom tomatoes.
@Kardamom That sounds soooo good! Do you do a pasta and tomato salad or how do you eat yours, just curious?
Jalepeno poppers off the grill!
Rick scrapes the seeds and the vein out because I don’t care for spicy, but we stuff them with creme cheese then wrap them in bacon. I didn’t think I’d like it the first time I tried it, but, creme cheese. I’ll try anything with creme cheese! OMG! I can’t get enough!
@Dutchess Me too, sounds delish. I spell it cream though lol
@KNOWITALL I like to make caprese salad with the tomatoes, or just put them on a veggie burger.
I ate a ton of strawberries while there were out in the markets. It is always warm here, it’s just a matter of how warm, so I eat whatever whenever I want to. I do enjoy the big summer tomatoes and good squash and cucumbers that we get in the summer from local farmers.
Chives! I love when they start to peek out of the ground. It is a sign of Spring!
@KNOWITALL ~ I spell a lot of things a bit wonky. I think it’s due to the the fact that I started reading before I was 5, and not everything I read was by American authors.
@Dutchess_III I make up my own words, probably being an only child. It’s okay, I just wondered why…lol
Blame it on Rudyard Kipling!
