Can you help me with this bit of wisdom from a good samaritan?
I told him that I want to finish my university and he asked me if I want it or God wants me? I answered that I didn’t know. Is that the reason that I can’t change my lot in life? Am I forcing myself to do what won’t help any one?

I was once told that some people, and there are a lot of them, do not want you to become better than they are, and they will say and do stuff to try to keep you down where they are.
This person you speak of is obviously one of them. Ignore the bum and continue to better yourself! You and the people who really matter will appreciate it and make it worth your while.
I GQd you, because this is a great question all right.
I think it is one only you can answer, after looking deep inside yourself.
No. The only thing preventing you from changing your life and living how you want, really is you. Not sure what he meant by that, but looking for reasons why your life is the way it is won’t work unless you are looking at yourself.
“Am I forcing myself to do what won’t help anyone?” Do what you love and what you feel is the right thing to do. Then worry about how it helps other people. Take care of yourself first.
Sorry Sweetie, I don’t see that person to be a good Samaritan. I see someone who was trying to hold you back from being the BEST you that you can be!!! By increasing your knowledge, you are giving yourself the opportunity to grow as a person. NEVER allow somebody else to determine YOUR worth. Furthering your education could possibly help everyone!!! So STOP looking for excuses to drop out of school & continue your path to a bright & promising future for all of us!!!l
I’ve never known God to want anyone to live less than what all they were created to be.
Unless God has called you to a very SPECIFIC ministry, missionary activity, etc etc (and you would certainly know), God’s purpose is for you to do and be all that you can be. All the above advice is excellent, but I second the fact that only you can answer.
There is no way of knowing what God wants, so you might as well do what you think is best. Since you keep putting off going to the university, maybe it is not what you really want.
