Do you exercise daily?

Asked by Kardamom (33494points) April 22nd, 2018

What exercises do you do? What are your reasons for exercising? Is it for weight loss, or better health, or to simply feel good?

How do you keep yourself motivated to exercise every day?

What do you define as exercising?
I go for walks every day and I usually try to bike to work when I can. Just because it makes me feel good and relieves stress. I don’t really run anymore or do pushups haha.

Well, I rarely ever actually formally y “exercised,” but I never shied away from doing hard work. That kept me in pretty damn good shape. Oh. Wait. I did used to do up to 100 sit ups a day.

In the winter not so much but about half the days I do 2 miles at least under my own power, either biking or walking.

Now that warm weather is arriving I’ll start taking my bike to work and riding 10 miles home. I used to have a shower at work so I’d ride both ways, but that’s no longer the case.

I’m at the gym 5 days a week. Reason, among others, is that I’m trying to gain weight. Another big motivation is that it just feels good and it’s basically a part of my life. Being able to release energy and looking better to “expand my horizons” are other motivations. I feel gross on days that I cut the gym. Other than that, I walk a lot and never take elevators. Well, the highest I have to climb is 8 stories. I mainly do resistance.

I go out for a walk or a cycle run every day. The distance depends on the weather. I do it partly to keep fit and partly because I like doing it.

All of the above. Also I like doing the things I mentioned above, and those and other activities are more enjoyable when in decent condition.

Clearly, I don’t.

I exercise every day.
In the morning 5 days a week I do 9 different calisthenics.
Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays I train with my outrigger canoe club.
Every couple of weeks I participate in canoe races.
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays I paddle my canoe by myself or with others.
On Sundays I work on my legs (jogging or hiking).

I workout vigorously because my body needs it to maintain good health. I’m likely doing far more than enough exercise for that. So I admit that I’m also exercising to achieve glory in canoe racing. But win or lose it’s a lot of fun too. It’s a great social thing for me. And that’s important too. So many cool and happy people.

I keep motivated by reminding myself of all the fun I have when I’m active and strong.

Do I really have a choice not to excercise? HA!

My commute has about 3 miles of walking built into it, so I do that about 4 days a week (I work from home sometimes). Aside from that, I don’t do a lot. I go on pleasure walks about once a week, those are usually 1–4 miles depending on the day. I try to lift some small free weights at home at least once a week but I’m not great about adhering to that.
