Panhanded?? You mean panhandled? To beg? Or did you mean panheaded like a biker might do on a Harley?

I’ve handed people pans. And been handed pans, especially when drying or putting away dishes and cookware.

A year or so ago I burned my hand pretty badly taking hold of a pan handle that was heated to 450 degrees, but it healed up after a lot of soaking and rest for a few days, and is now good as new.

No, I have never panhandled. I hear some who do it make enough to afford their Cadillacs.

I’ve never done it. I never had the need, fortunately.
I wouldn’t do well as a panhandler. I find it an invasion of my privacy and personal space when someone comes up to me and asks me for money, so I wouldn’t do it to someone else.

I’ve been in countries in Asia where there are no support nets for the poor. Those people make panhandlers in the US look fortunate. There is too much wealth disparity on the planet and little incentive for “the haves” to fix the issue.

When I was in my early 20s I worked in Washington DC & I had to walk 4 blocks from where I could park my car to get to work. There was a guy with no legs who sat on a rolling cart wearing thick leather gloves that he used to roll himself around begging for money every day…no matter the weather. This went on for years. One morning in reading the newspaper I ran across an article announcing that he had died. According to the reported story. He lived in a mansion in Florida, had a maid & a butler, had prosthetic legs, & a checking account worth ¾ million dollars. This was back before being a millionaire was the norm. His maid said that she had asked him why he traveled north every year to sit on the street & beg. He explained to her that he was providing a service as he made people feel good about themselves by allowing them to help him.

I’ve had many a rough patch in my life but I’ve always been fortunate enough to be able to rise above it. I hope I never see the day that I have to beg in order to eat as I don’t think I’d be very good at it!!!
