Do fortune tellers ever go to casinos, convinced of their powers?

Asked by ragingloli (52278points) May 1st, 2018

And if they do, does their inability to win convince them, that they are powerless?

I don’t know about people who bill themselves as fortune tellers, but there are plenty of superstitious people who believe they have some special thing going for them.
Being proved wrong is a funny thing, because if it doesn’t go well, many tend to feel challenged and work all the harder to prove themselves.

I have a knack for picking up on the algorithms. It isn’t foolproof, and I never got rich, but I am better than even.

No, because predicting casino results is not the ability that fortune tellers have.

They don’t go simply because they are not convinced of there powers.

I did. I won $25 for having 5 oranges. I don’t go anymore.

No, because whenever they think of going they see the future and they lose heavily so they never go.

Fortune tellers only ever go to the casino when the small fry pig’s entrails can be clearly seen through a glass darkly.

Co-incidentally, last night I won the texas holdem poker tournament at le club on my third outing playing the game and as a consequence have a seat at a $60,000 tournament.

Cartomancy was clearly on the cards.

Although, to be fair the long lunch followed by the wine tasting before the comp was the secret to the feckful fecundity for fortune favours the naive.

Because they can’t or don’t want to abuse their power. Mundane people don’t need to understand this at all. Well, at least they can make excuses like ‘divine intervention’ forbid them from earning profit through worldly entertainment such as gambling.
