What does it indicate when you answer a question, and then the question is missing, and your answer doesn't even appear in your Responses?

Asked by Zaku (30571points) May 1st, 2018

This just happened to me. It’s a bit annoying as I spent a while making several lists and I didn’t save it anywhere.

Does it mean the OP deleted their own question?

Sounds like it is “Modded”; the OP can’t delete their own Q.

[Mod Says] The question you are asking about was sent back to the asker for editing. Both the question and your response to it will be available again as soon as the revised question is approved (at which point your answer will also appear in the list of your responses).

In the event that a question is removed and won’t be coming back (e.g., a spam question that appeared innocent when you answered it), you can always ask a moderator to send you the text of your answer. You can also do this if your response itself is removed for some reason.

@SavoirFaire Awesome, thanks!!

Well, my question got pulled for editing today because of too many typos. Turns out I misspelled one word and omitted another word by accident. So now my question has been out of commission half a day, and will get buried when it comes back. Sometimes I wonder why I still come on here.

It means you forgot to click on the little “answer” box on the lower right before selecting another page to view.
