How can my dog have so much boundless energy when she can't even breath?

Asked by Dutchess_III (47126points) May 2nd, 2018

She is really, really laboring to breath. That tumor in her throat is just getting bigger and bigger. I wish Rick was here. I’m just about ready to take her in…but then she does what she just did and that was she came hurtling off the couch, ran out the open door and FLEW off the deck and ran all around the back yard. I don’t understand how she’s able to do that.

Dogs have an extra organ that stores blood for later use when exited. I don’t know its name. maybe someone can provide a link.

Mind over matter. The brain wants to but the body can’t deliver and the dog doesn’t understand why or how.

At a customer’s house one day, I was told that one of the dogs had pneumonia and that’s why it’s breathing was so labored. A few minutes later the lady came out and told me that the dog had just died. Keeled over in the middle of the living room! Just like that. Sounds like your dog was panicked into running around, an frightened energetic episode brought on by a sudden surge of adrenaline. Just a guess…

But the body does deliver @kritiper, and I don’t understand how.

BTW…just waiting for Rick to get home. Today is the day. ;(

No, she wasn’t panicked. She’d seen another dog walking by the house and that’s her cue to go wild, man.

Oh no. My condolences. That’s so hard to deal with, isn’t it? [Hugs]

Thanks you guys. In one way it’s kind of a relief. I was terrified that she was going to start choking and be unable to recover and I was terrified of maybe having to watch her choke to death in front of me.
