Have you ever said anything in Fluther that could harm your job prospects?

Considering I have openly spoken my mind about anything and everything in ways I never would in person I would say yes.

If anything I’ve said here will preclude me from being hired on any job, I would NOTt want to work for them anyway. I tend to speak from the heart & what is MY reality. My reality isn’t always others’ reality & I’ve learned to respect others’ ideas. Anyway, if I think it, my mouth will most likely say it & being turned down for a job because of my ideas here would be a good thing as it would save me from quitting or being fired later. I see my opinions on public forums to be a pre application interview.

I despise politics & politicians; so, it’s highly unlikely that I’d ever run for office as I can’t lie for a living!!!

I’ve tried to keep my most polarizing opinions, and questionable anecdotes out. Not sure how well I’ve pulled that off, as I Fluther while intoxicated sometimes.

Yesterday was my last day as a LEO, so maybe I’ll let some more of the real me out in the future.

I try to be aware of the fact that many places do indeed judge a person by their social media content. I remember being in a manager’s office once. They were going through applications. Before turning from the front page, they would look the applicant up on Facebook. They would immediately drop someone from consideration, if they saw something that was illegal, or even if they disproved of certain views of the applicant.

Having said all of this, I am certain that some of my views would effect my employment opportunities. At least in some places. As far as political careers go, I would never be interested in such work.

I’m pretty sure a lot of what I posted here would get me fired.

That’s why no one knows I’m here :D

Not my posts, but a lot of eyebrows would be raised by my Google searches, to help me give more informed answers on Fluther: suicide, polyandry, drug abuse, teen pregnancy, abortion, DUI, foster care, homosexuality, transgender kids, free bleeding, Donald Trump blunders, etc.

Shoot, I say things in the office on a daily basis that jeopardize my career prospects. I’m not overly worried about Fluther.
