Why does eating regularly cause more hunger?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24993points) May 8th, 2018

I’m eating salmon or trout , froot loops and, 6 large eggs, fruit , and mixed vegetables all once a day,and I’m still hungry. I eat out once a week of ,KFC big crunch and one thigh, and store bought sandwiches. If I don’t eat now then my stomach hurts more and I get sweaty. I’m saving enough money so I will relax my plans to be more austere. What is the science between increased hunger from eating regularly?

Methinks the froot loops and kfc trump the salmon. The idea is to eat nutritional dense food, such as weet bix, baked potatoes, home made food. Dont feel bad i love froot loops and ive been to kfc 3 three times this week. But you will feel less hungry with whole foods.

@trailsillustrated O.K. will get some Weetabix when the store opens in 4 hours.

Get some berries or bananas, too and have then in your weetbix. Another nutrient dense food is brown rice. You can put eggs in there or vegetables. For bread, get bakery bread that has seeds and is brown.

@trailsillustrated Berries and banana’s sound good. I will survey the store in the morning.

There is no reason why you have to eat just three times per day. You can save part of a meal for eating as a snack. This is especially true if you are in the middle of a meal and no longer feel hungry. Stop eating and put the remainder in a container that you can put in the refrigerator.

You may not be really hungry all the time. It’s just the habit that makes you feel like it.

Am I reading this right, that you are bingeing on one big meal per day?

Could be because of habit as @imrainmaker said.
I would go to these week-long camps and I’d get 8 hours of sleep along with 3 meals a day. When I got home, I wasn’t eating 3 meals a day or getting 8 hours of sleep a night which led me to be tired and hungry until I got back into my regular habit. Maybe slowly eat less a bit each day and introduce a more balanced diet (maybe not 3 full meals either) until you can get a good diet going that isn’t just snacks or sugary foods.
I mean like for breakfast you have non-sugary cereal or a fruit bowl, or toast and eggs so you get a variety of stuff, skip lunch maybe or have a later one and eat (healthy) snacks instead. Dinner could be some meat with potatoes, veggies, etc. What you are eating isn’t much of a variety.

I’d also say that you skip lunch, and replace with snacks, Go for a good filling breakfast and dinner.

Now to show how this answers your question, it’s all because of habit and if you make sure you have good balanced meals that will help curb the hunger.
