When something is asked about the nature of porn, no one cares. Asking for links to porn is not apropriate.
I only get mad when the person spelled question wrong.
overweight folks get angry for obvious reasons
I’m not sure it’s inappropriate. I’ve read a lot of comments and questions on fluther that I don’t particularly care for….But who am I to judge? Like all other forms of media, you have the right to ignore those things you find offensive. I’m not interested in porn links but perhaps others are.
But you didn’t ask somone to post a link to porn.
It will mean so much more to you if you find it yourself!
I think it’s funny that when asked in a public setting or asked at all if “you watch porn?” most people will straight up deny or even get mad. In reality they might actually view it.
The porn industry dosent make so much money out of thin air.
People are straight up embarrased.
@allengreen, I gotta know! What is the obvious reason overweight people are upset by questions about porn? I’m sure I’ll see how obvious it was once I read the answer.
@super, if it is not obvious, you must not be overweight
@AG, I’ll take that as a compliment, I think. FYI, I am of average size, not overweight.
Maybe because there are 13 year olds on this site.
I think people get upset if the topic of porn is brought up when they’re not ready to discuss it. Whether it’s because they’re not comfortable with it or embarrassed that they watch it, who knows.
Generally, I find you can actually get a reasonable discussion going on fluther about most things as long as there is context and willingness to discuss the topic from all involved. Having said that, asking for links so you can watch porn on the school bus, may be taking things a little too far and I’m not surprised a few people give you a bit of attitude!
@allengreen: I’m wondering the same as SuperMouse – and I am overweight. Think you could clarify?
I gotta agree with tinyfaery, I have a teenage niece who frequents this site and I would rather it not be made any easier for her to find free porn on the web than it already is. I think you need to consider your audience when asking such a question.
@allengreen, it looks like you aren’t going to be let off the hook so easily. I second wildflower seconding me so would that be thirding myself? – clarification please.
@allengreen :: you are being a dick again. please stop.
a) you’re new, which makes folks skeptical of your intentions.
b) people here bristle at questions about non-monogamous sex. It’s just the way it is.
I asked a question about porn. If I remember correctly, I got a “great question” on it, as well as some thoughtful responses. It’s not the subject matter – it’s the content of the question that you posed.
@allengreen—I’m with wildflower. I’m overweight and wondering what this “obvious” reason for getting upset about porn could be. I’m clearly missing something, as porn discussions don’t upset me in the least.
I asked a question about porn. I even posted a link to a picture of a topless woman. No one got upset. In fact, they basically told me I was an old fogey because they thought it wasn’t that racey, just not safe for work.
