Is The Brady Bunch a racist T.V. show?
Squeaky-clean blue-eyed blondes and no blacks, Hispanics, Muslims,or Illegal Immigrants, and they’re even in California—trying to show how simple and simply perfect life was in California in pre-Sanctuary City days.
They even had a token show about minority adoptions somewhere in the series.

Never watched it.
I was quite fond of “Married with Children”, though.
Basically the same thing, right?
Its the story about a lovely lady, who was bringing up three VERY lovely girls. All of them had hair of gold, like their mother (the youngest one in curls). Its the story of a mad named “Brady” who was bringing up three boys of his own (they were four men, living all together, yet they were all alone.
‘Till the one day when the lady bet this fella—and they knew that it was MUCH more than a hunch. That this group should somehow become a family. That’s the way they all became The Brady Bunch. The Brady Bunch The Brady Bunch. That’s the way they became the Brady Bunch.
They also got a white maid named Alice and a shaggy dog named Tiger who disappeared after the first season.
Oh, my nose!
It was unintentional.
Tiger was killed in the lot. They never acknowledged it or replaced him because it was a tough thing for everyone to deal with.
The story was concept. They tried to diversify eventually, but the Bradys were messing around with each other, and people got busy trying to cover up that.
No, not racist, but so intensely vanilla in its format and outlook that the show became the icon for white bread and pablum in America.
When Tiger died, they should have done a show about it. Use the real dead dog. Maybe Greg could have run over the dog in the garage, or while Peter and Bobby are throwing a football. Put in a few dead dog jokes with the laugh track.
Get a new animal by the end of the show, Maybe Marcia and Jan find a cat, after Cindy and Bobby bring home a skunk, and it sprays and they have to get rid of it. Pretty much Brady Bunch format
No. Culturally diverse? No. Just a white-centric little universe.
As a side note. I would recommend a movie called “White Man’s Burden.” It essentially reverses the roles of the races, in America. If you carefully digest it, it can point out lots of things that most of us don’t even think about. It is a Spike Lee movie. That may be bad to some. I found it very awakening. It’s starring John Travolta. It gives a unique position of race, and media, in America. Great movie!
No it’s not racist, that’s how a lot of America was at one time, segregated areas. Maybe they were in a white enclave with few minorities, you know that those still exist today right? haha
Wasn’t US kind of different though?
