What is the percentage of women who now stay home with their infants instead of returning to work after a birth? And how long do they stay out of the workforce?

Depends which country you live in...in Canada you are eligible for a one-year maternity leave with pay and the guarantee to get your job back. In the U.S. you're lucky to get a few weeks.

Isn't that SAD? I personally think it's a myth that women can do it all. Something is going to suffer if you try to be a good mom, a good wife, a good employee, a good homemaker...

It’s only sad if it’s a choice they didn’t want to make.
