What is <em> within an OP (question) when you're using the search engine in Fluther?

Let’s say you want to search for a question (if it’s been asked already) you see it has been, but there is one or more <em> s in there between the words. What is that about?

It’s how bold text gets displayed when there is a syntax error or when using an interface that doesn’t display bold text.
