If you ever propose a toast, do you have a favorite one?

Or do you like to tailor it to suit the occasion?
For instance, having your first drink of the new year with an old friend, or celebrating someone’s anniversary—do you say anything?

“Here’s tae us, none like us, damn few, and they’re all deed (dead)”
A Scots toast (I have a heavily Scottish background, our family tartan used to be on Thermoses all across America!)
Sourdough, of course, with creamy scrambled eggs.
@canidmajor: Royal Stewart?
@ragingloli, haha. I knew somebody was going to make that joke, but I didn’t think it would be you. Sounds good, actually.
@Jeruba Wallace plaid. Not my favorite, but oh well. :-)
@canidmajor, my family’s tartan was a very, very dull MacNeill. I wish great-granny had been a Buchanan.
I do:
May all your joys be true joys
And all your pain be champagne
My friend:
(hitting mic) Testicles, testicles, one two three.
Big laughs, moves on.
Here’s my favorite (unfortunately I cannot claim credit for it, I first heard it from a female teacher, of all people!):
“To your genitalia,
May they never fail ya”
@yesitszen Good one! I’ll have to remember it!
