I’m not sure if this has been asked before, but I couldn’t find it anywhere…
I love names because I write a lot. I have a book of 100,000 baby names and I go through and highlight all of my favorites.
What are yours?

I am a fan of the names Brian, Samantha and Annika. You might want to go here: www.notwithoutmyhandbag.com/babynames to see some examples of what not to use!
PS: I’m still trying to learn this whole link in an answer thing…
I like odd names. A friend of mine knew a guy named Gib Dickenhoof. That one has been one of my faves.
Then there was Maxie Heimowitz. I love how that rolls off the tongue.
Favorite female name was Cloris Torris. No kidding.
One more that I remember was Martha Van Della. Yes. Her dad was a musician. Van was her middle name. (For you youngsters, one the best female Motown groups was Martha and the Vandella’s).
Considering they’re my grandkids, I’d have to say, Liam, Rees and Jude. My daughter Melissa (a nice name too) is naming my granddaughter Ryven. It hasn’t grown on me yet. I am also partial to Landon (my son was born BEFORE the name got so popular, I tell him all the little Landon’s are named after him) and Kerstin. The name wasn’t so popular when she was born too. I spelt her name wrong though. It’s pronounced Keerstin.(first part rhymes with beer)
I like to think of how a kid will be teased with their name. I never would have thought that someone would tease a kid saying “Landon bridge is faling down” though!
I’m currently in love with ‘Frizzerton.’
Girl: Jude, Lyla, Neve, Ella, Quinn, Vivienne,
Boy: Dominick, Geoffrey, Liam, Quinn
@judi I made my list before yours popped up. So many similarities.
I love my sister’s name, which is Jancine. Her husband’s name is Szymon (pronounced shimon).
@peedub: Yes! Frizzetron de Poole
@Judi : I love the name Jude!
@tinyfaery: Lyla and Ella are two of my favorite girl names too!
I like Jude because my grandson was named after me :-)
Morgana, vortigan, azreal, and the one who should not be named.
Well, I’m not entirely sure if this is for possible kids and what not, but one of my dreams is to have a bunch of children and name them with non-stereotypical gender names, such:
Girl names: Stubby, Butch, Chubs
Boy names: Rosemary, Chastity, Appleblossom
..I shouldn’t have kids
I realized that I didn’t answer my own question..
Girls: Isla (pronounced Eye-La), Serenity, Angelina
Boys: Dorean, Adrian, Gabriel
I’ve always wanted to name a daughter Vicodin. I don’t think it’s going to happen though….
What do others think of the name Ryven?
I have a friend who named her daughter Cerenity
@Judy: I actually really like the name Ryven… I like that spelling of Cerenity.
Sorry, I totally spelled your name wrong!
i like raven for a girl, but for a boy…well let me think.
I have a relative named Raven.
I guess Ryven is a town in Scotland
I like it too, it sounds quite exotic.
I actually like it for both a girl or a boy.
I have a friend who named her daughter Aslyn.
Ryven…hmm, for a boy i think i’d name him falkirk.
I actually hope to name my first born son Javon in memory of this little boy.
@Tantigirl : I love that name for a girl! Thanks!
but like i said before, naming your kid…the unnameable one, that would kick @$$!!
@bridold – does this mean I get included on the dedication page of your book (assuming you’re writing one)? ;)
@Tantigirl: If only I ever finished anything I wrote! I’ll keep it in mind, though in case I do!
Bro Ken Con-Dom
Fergetti da Pill
I seriously need to get back to work
does anybody want to know the forbidden name for “him” ?
…i might have my hands full after, cause he sees all but his name is…..Mammon, the 13th son.
i see no one has a comment on this.
I absolutely LOVE the name “Isabella”, Bella for short. I want to name my daughter that (if/when i have one).
well then i wish you the best of luck. Oh and so do “they”
Jude or Drake for boys.
Chloe or Ellie for girls.
i have a cousin named drake, and strangely enough he thinks he’s the descendant from Francis drake.
and may i comment you are lovely.
Is he trying to be funny or creepy?
The fun part is, we may never know!
I’m still on board with Danger for a middle name.
well i’m being funny that’s one for sure, and creepy well if i creep you guys out i humbly apologize, but i’m also being honest.
Nunzio, “Cheech” and Fiorina. (NOT!)
Seriously, I think “MICHAEL” rules!!!
Shmuel, Bet, Ven, and Caridgan.
i stand by my dark names.
Liberty Lynn
Charity Ann
Charity Marie
Nativity Ann
Nativity Marie
Hope
Nevaeh= heaven backwards
Faith
and many more for girls
For boys I like
Robert Leroy II
Montgomery
and I like more but I can’t think right now. I think that is enough for now though. As you may tell I like different names. In my opinion the more different the better.
I tend to like Biblical names and classic English names.
For girls: Sarah, Elizabeth, Catherine, Rachel, Emily, Caroline
For boys: John, Christopher, Jonah, Adam, Michael
Maybe this is not very creative, but I believe these are all strong names that will stand their owners in good stead through every phase of their lives.
Hey. My name is one of these lists.
I’m partial to Lauren and Ty.
I also like Olivia, Chloe, Gabrielle, Annaliese and Elisabeth for girls.
For boys, I like – Jackson, Jack, Jake, Braedon, Eron, Max, Sam and Garin.
I also love Lily and Rose for a girl!
@cak I like that spelling of Eron
i also like Lillian, Olivia, Elizabeth.
Oh, that reminds me, I like the name Oluva, too. Old school Irish (Gaelic?), I think.
- really need to learn more about my ancestral roots -
i love it thanks for the site, here’s 5.
haha – I’m rather partial to the name Robert…..
@Rob: not gaelic, just nordic, although the two have a bit of history together
I love names popular in my grand parents era: Klara, Isabelle, Abigail, Claire, August, Oscar, Mildred, Lillian, Olivia, Rupert. I dislike made-up names, or when a simple name is spell ridiculously just to be different.
