Is it possible to connect an iPhone or iPad to a TV screen or monitor using only one cable?

If not, why not?
So far, the only solution that I’ve found is to use a Lightning to HDMI adaptor (which is female on the HDMI end), then attach it to the TV’s HDMI jack using an HDMI-to-HDMI cable (male on both ends). But this involves using two connector/adapters.
Do you know of any place that sells a Lightning-to-HDMI male end adapter/cable? This would seem to be a whole lot simpler.

Mac has those adapters your talking about, either from any retailer that sells apple stuff,or on line.
That is exactly what I was thinking of thanks @LadyMarissa that should work with an iPod.
You’re welcome @SQUEEKY2. -I’m an Amazon baby & can find almost anything I need there & a lot of stuff I don’t really need!!! ;)
@LadyMarissa @SQUEEKY2 Thanks, but no, that’s not it. You need to pair this with an HDMI-to-HDMI cable in order to connect it to the TV.
I’m looking for a single connector that will do the job.
@2davidc8 Sure HDMI from the TV,but you don’t have a HDMI socket on either the iPhone or iPod that is why that connector that @LadyMarissa showed would work HDMI goes from the TV to it then that to your device.
@Lightlyseared Yes, that seems more like it. All contained in one unit.

You can also use ChromeCast if you want to do it wirelessly, but only for certain apps.
