What kind of back brace would you recommend?

Asked by Dutchess_III (47126points) June 22nd, 2018

I’ve finally got my energy back to do some semi heavy lifting but my lower back is so out of shape that after I haul one thing I have to go collapse somewhere until it quits hurting. I’m pretty sure a back brace would help, but there are so many different kinds that it confuses me.
I could use one that improves your posture too…but do they really work??

What are your suggestions?

What happened to you Dutch? We noticed you weren’t around much!

I haven’t used any so I can’t help with specific advice but I kind of wanted to try them all. I would think that the ones without suspenders are more comfortable; my Ex had one that just went around the middle.

I have asked my physician about a back brace for pin relief and he insists they don’t relieve pain. I do know that wearing a back brace can cause your muscles to “depend” on the brace and your back muscles weaken.

I was in the hospital all last week….....But I’m all better now.

I don’t care @si3tech. As long as it relieves the pain. As it is I’m pretty much crippled. I work for a couple of minutes then I have to sit down and it sucks.

If I may ask, what happened? Why were you in the hospital?
