As in, face masks, hairstyles? I’m told “every woman in America” does this.

have you? If not, have you attended one? A long time ago, I came home from work to discover that I was apparently hosting one. My girlfriend at the time found me tolerable, but bore a deep and passionate love for my house, which she would commander as she pleased. After figuring out what was going on, I ran out of the house like it was on fire.
When I was a little maybe, but not while I’ve been an adult.
When I was in elementary school we used to put on make-up and do each other’s hair as more of a dress-up like grown-ups thing. Also, sometimes my older cousins would braid my hair or paint my nails. I did that with younger girls when I babysat them, but I never really had a party for it.
As a young teenager one time at a friend’s birthday party they had a woman who sells make-up do a demonstration and we got to put on make-up and get some samples. The premise was to teach us to put on natural looking make-up now that we were getting to the age that we would probably start using it.
Here at Disney (I live near Disney World) you can go to their special beauty parlor and get made up like a princess. Girls have birthday parties there.
Women do have Avon and Mary Kay parties maybe? I’ve never been to one as an adult personally.
Never. I’ve heard of them but never actually known anyone who has had one.
Never. So not every woman in America. And not everyone likes a massage. I don’t like people touching me.
That stereotype seems to be not true so far. Who told you this? Was it an American?
I’ve been to a couple that focused on make-up. They were hosted by a friend who offered her house for a sales rep. (I’ve also attended this type of gathering for someone selling candles, jewellery, or kitchen plastic ware).
I plan to never attend another one. There is an unwritten pressure to make a purchase. It’s a couple of hours listening to a sales rep talk about products that are not of interest to me.
I never have, but it seems like fun.
The girls in an office where I used to work had them quite frequently & it sounded like they had a ton of fun. I never attended because the ONLY makeup that I wear is lipstick.
Back in my time, I think Mary K instigated a lot of them. Beware the pink Cadillac!
