Do any of you know any songs that flirt with the idea of reincarnation?
Any type of music. The only two I know are “El Paso City” by Marty Robbins and the Johnny Cash Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson collaboration, “The Highwayman”.

Not exactly reincarnation but would “Tears in Heaven” by Eric Clapton go with what you are looking for?
(And weren’t they a super group called “The Highwaymen” – was there a song called that by them as well?)
Have to check out the Clapton song. And there was a group by
that name yearrrs ago but I think they were folk music weren’t they? Willie Waylon and Co. briefly coopted the name.
Yup – the group that Nelson, Jennings, Cash and Kristofferson formed was called The Highwaymen(country_supergroup) and they sang a song by Jimmy Webb called “The Highwayman.” Both of us were right!
This just in from the other world:
I used to be the pharaoh
Who wisely ruled the earth
Now that I am back again
What’s with this low rebirth
Once I had dyslexia
And came back as a Dog
Another time a princess
And once or twice a frog
Boomeranging like a stick
Not bouncing like a ball
One day I’m sure that I’ll transcend
And not come back at all
I can’t think of any, off-hand, but there should be a truck driving, country western song like that…
I’m sure there has to be one like that somewhere. Lol
