You didn’t say what you already know, but my main recommendation for something to learn is Python. It’s a great learning language, it’s free and easy to install, there are great learning tutorials for it online, it’s cross-platform, supported with a great number of useful libraries for all sorts of things, and it’s also a fun and useful language for fast prototyping or getting something working quickly and relatively easily.
