What do you think about that video about not yelling at your kids?

On the video it says the effects are worse than spanking, and so then I wondered what’s the real motive of the video.
Do you think it’s about making spanking ok, or trying to emphasize that if you think spanking is bad, you might as well know that yelling can be worse.

I think yelling is OK to catch the kids’ attention and to show how serious you are. Using derogatory terms on kids whether or not through yelling aren’t OK or constructive at all. Kids can learn to take advantage of parents that act too soft/too afraid to deliver firm punishment.
I think spanking is such a hassle. La Chancla and El Cincho will do better job. (I couldn’t see the video since Facebook is currently being blocked in my country).
^^Maybe someone can help get the link so it’s not in Facebook.
The link went to Betty’s FB page, but not to a specific post.
I knew a guy who had kids. You couldn’t help but yell at them because they were always into something. Leave the car door open and they were in there. The door to the house, same thing. If there was something to climb up on, they were on top of it. But you had to laugh because they were so much fun to have around!
Spanking isn’t bad if done properly and at a good time. Wait until they are old enough to know what “NO!” is, then swat them with a rolled up newspaper. If they are still young enough, the sound of the newspaper will scare them, they will get the message, respect you for being the boss. Wait too long and they will realize that the paper doesn’t hurt and will disrespect you AND the newspaper! Then you are screwed!
@canidmajor It’s Betty’s Page, but should have the video about the telling. Are you not able to see it?
I guess I’ll pass on this one, I scrolled a bit, didn’t see it. Not going to do a heavy search.
^^It should be right at the top. Thanks for letting me know. I don’t want anyone to have to hunt for it. I’ll try to find another way to link it.
It was probably at the top when you posted this, I guess she added other stuff.
It’s just like any thing else. It depends on the intensity. Screaming, “You Godamn little prick!! Get your fucking hand out of the Goddamn cookie jar before I cut it off!” would be horribly damaging.
“Hey! Get out of the cookies!” Not so bad, even if your voice is raised.
Same with different forms of physical discipline.
Ahem…we have staff for that.
