Will Elizabeth Warren be our first Native American / American Indian President?
Obama was our first African American president. Hillary Clinton won the popular vote at least in California and made her by popular vote the first woman to win an election.
I think Elizabeth Warren is remaining relevant in the areas that the Democratic party stands for, and seems to have a lot of support from the overwhelming majority of younger people who were for the Jan Stein / Bernie Sanders mindset. Better yet, she is female and Native American (although doesn’t look it with her blonde hair and strong blue eyes) and diametrically opposed to Trump.
I think she is the new America politically as the old Conservative party dies off or becomes less relevant. Could she be our first Native American / American Indian president?

There are easier ways to announce your media consumption.
If you think anyone outside of your conservative circle gives a shit about any Native American horseshit, you’re dead wrong.
But Warren has larger issues. She’s not very well thought of on the left. She also consistently refuses to express any interest to run.
You could have just said, “I listen to conservative fringe propaganda. Yay me!”.
What AM talk show are you listening too, @Yellowdog ?
I think it is time we have a true Native American (like Warren) to be president. Why are you so opposed to it? She hates Trump as much as anyone. And that seems to be the main agenda of the Left. I could support her because I appreciate Native American culture, and that might be something different from our usual Republican/Democrat hubris. Most people vote for the party whose issues they are most familiar. Native American thought might make a good change
I hope so. I like Warren.
We could certainly do worse. It’s really too bad that the Democratic party does not actually give credence to Warren’s take on the lay of the land.
I’m not sure Warren is a “true Native American” whatever that is but if she is it would not be a good reason to vote for her. It would surely make more sense to look at her record, her policies and her abilities and then decide.
Are you toying with us? When did you stop thinking that Trump is a gift from God? I was expecting a snide Pocahontas reference.
Whether or not Warren has some trace of Native American ancestry makes no difference. Culturally, she is not Native American and does not claim to be. She never lived on a reservation and does not practice Native American religion. In terms of the presidency, it is significant that she is female and part of the progressive wing of the Democratic party. I would like to see her run.
“She’s not very well thought of on the left.”
It depends on who you talk to. The establishment democrats dislike her because she’s against money in politics and corporatism. The progressive left thinks she’s the best democrat in politics (besides Bernie) but progressives get frustrated when she proposes half measures and says that the primary wasn’t rigged against Bernie.
I am not toying with anyone, @LostInParadise and yes, I DO actually think that Trump is a Gift from God the Lord Jesus.
I think Elizabeth Warren is interesting, a good mix of Bernie Sanders and Jill Stein, and only her extreme anti-Trump rhetoric turns me off—it seems her main topic Just want to know what others think, and I poise my questions to get responses the best way I know how.
@notnotnotnot You always speak as if you are the only voice of “the left” or “the progressives.” Perhaps you should only speak of your own opinions. In my political work, I see a range of opinions from progressives on almost every issue and candidate; it is not a monolith of which you alone know the truth.
Remember, @janbb, there are always a few that don’t understand that “the left” and “progressives” are terms that are subjective. Makes me wonder what that other self-proclaimed lonely absolutist who used to be here is up to. :-)
