Should the YouTube video ask for a like and subscribe after the video is over?
Not before. Seems reasonable.

I personally wish that they didn’t need to ask at all!!! I have run across a few channels that don’t mention the “like & subscribe” & choose to ad a quick edit at the end of their video with a link to like & subscribe. I’ve made it a habit to click the like button before I hit the play button. Then IF I discover that I really don’t like the video, I go back & hit the dislike button. That way I’m showing my appreciation of their work & I don’t forget to say Thank You at the end!!!
They have to do that because many users don’t do it like Marissa. Advertisement will depend on number of subscribers to the channel I guess.
