Parallel Parking in Texas?

I am 16 and am about to get my license in Texas. Some friends are telling me in order to pass I have to parallel park or its an automatic fail while others are saying they only take points of because no one parallel parks anymore. Can anyone tell ne which is true please?

I don’t know, but believe you should assume the worst and be ready. Start practicing—NOW.

It’s part of the NJ driver’s test; don’t know about Texas.

My info. is decades old but it was a part of the test here in Texas in the past and you had to pass it. I don’t recall it being grounds for rejection however, only points off.

The wheels of progress in government agencies turn exceedingly slow so I doubt it has changed..

PS, I had to parallel park twice yesterday. Not sure where you get the idea no one does that any more.
