It is generally a low calorie dairy food made with live cultures, so it provides the benefits of dairy such as calcium and protein, while also proving for the helath of one’s gut biome.
(A lot of yogurt is overly-sweetened, not low calorie, and have no live culture, so it is as healthy as a milkshake).
Healthy yogurt contains the cultures. I put Non fat plain Greek yogurt on my muesli for breakfast with a handful of craisins for sweetener. 18 grams of protein per ⅔ cup. Good source of calcium as well.
It is healthy provided you are not sensitive to dairy. It’s low fat, high protein and contains beneficial bacteria.
I don’t care for yogurt; so in my mind, there is NOTHING healthy about it!!!
My dentist gave me some amoxicillin a few months ago and lets just say antibiotic-associated diarrhea is the real deal.
So yeah. Lots of yogurt and sour cream to get the gut bacteria back into balance.
I hate yogurt.. But I love burritos. It was pretty great to eat two burritos a day “because the doctor said so”.
