Do you listen to songs to be happy or listen only when happy?

I used to be able to either seek solace or affirm happy feelings by listening to my favorite instrumentals and songs.

That was many years ago.

Middle age crisis and other terrifying realities in life these days blunted my enthusiasm for my music collection.

There was a time in recent years when I couldn’t listen to music for a period of some months but now I listen both when I happy and to get happier. Different music for each. I usually put on music when I’m cooking.

I listen to songs in the car. I rarely listen to music in the house any more, unless I’m on some project, like building shelves in a broom closet.
