In Aesop's Fable "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" -- what consequences happened at the end?

Was it:
(1) The wolf ate the boy’s sheep because the villagers didn’t believe the boy.
(2) The wolf ate the boy
(3) The wolf ate the villagers and maybe the boy, too.
(4) Nothing. The boy just wasn’t believed. That’s all. Its a big non-story.
