Anyone know about dream analysis?

Asked by emilyrose (2277points) August 19th, 2008

I had a crazy dream last night that I was driving a car and was completely out of control. I was so far from the breaks at one point that I was driving 80–100 mph and couldn’t see out of the windshield. I eventually parked/maybe crashed into a huge brick building. I was totally sweaty and got naked and then showered with some hose in the garden in front of the brick building. Then I conveniently had a towel and went up the stairs crying and asking for help, but all of a sudden I was drunk, and there was a man who I could tell was not pleased with me. I remember thinking that I don’t know how I got so drunk, I only had one drink. I fell backwards on the stairs and he took a photo of me basically to use as evidence against me. Eventually my mom came to pick me up and thought it was no big deal. (I have been living on my own for 10 years so kind of funny that my mom picked me up in the dream.) I was then wondering if charges would be pressed for drunk driving, and I was wondering if I had been drugged or something. The themes of driving and being out of control, and of not being able to see are reoccurring in my dreams. I also recently had a dream that I was out of control riding my bicycle and I was literally flying through the air. It’s important to note that in real life I never drive. I have a fear of driving and ride my bike everywhere.

You have three powerful symbols in your dream all delivering the same message. You are feeling lke your life is out of control.

From the dream dictionary:

“Driving a car or riding in a car being driven by someone else. Dream interpretation: car represents our bodies and how we move through life. If the dreamer is driving, then he/she feels in control, if not, then the person driving is controlling the dreamer (and the dreamer is allowing it).”

“Nude in Public. Dream interpretation: exposure, embarrassment, coming to terms with self (depends on what part of body is nudegenitals = sexual activities are being exposed or about to be…chest = emotions, feelings, hopes and dreams…feet = basic beliefs are uncovered.”

Another source “the out-of-control car would represent a feeling of being out of control of something else”

From Experience Festival:

“If you dream of being drunk, then in some way you are at a disadvantage. Look to other symbols in the dream to judge where this disadvantage lies.”

Hope this helps.

interesting. I have been feeling very stressed about my work so I was curious if it was a literal “out of control” situation. I don’t get the nudity thing though, but thought maybe the sweating thing was just related to having taken a spin class earlier in the night. I get more sweaty in that class than I ever did in India…and it’s pretty darn hot in India.

i agree it shows that your life or at some point it will be out of control and when that weakens you stay highly alert, the drunk part is a warning, mind your surroundings, meanwhile i will consult my seers. :|

I clearly means you want to have sex with your mother.

Someone in a position of authority may have dominance or insight into an area of your personal or professional life that makes you uncomfortable (the picture taking and stairs contexts)...the drunkenness and out of control may signify lapse in judgment or loss of control, or maybe that you are second-guessing your judgment in a matter concerning your career or professional development (stairs). All very interesting and really could signify a number of things in your life at this juncture. The important thing to take away from this is how you felt in the dream and what your impulse would have been if you were faced with those challenges (or their symbols) in real life.

I keep a notepad and pen on a nightstand next to my bed at all times, so I can write down anything I dream (and recall), upon awakening.

I started doing this after I read of a woman who dreamed of the winning numbers in a lottery, and won $16 million.

Some folks believe that when your dream, Gawd is speaking to you.

I agree with Marina, all of the elements in your dream show that you have a fear of having no control over your life. Even the part about your mom picking you up, which is a representation of others, particularly parents, controling your life. Since you said that you have a fear of driving, I can see that you are a nervous type, so I can see how your fears are manifesting themselves in your dreams.

i dont know what it means, but ever since i was about 3 one of my recurring dreams is sitting in a car and it just starts moving, and im completely out of control, when i was very young, it was always whoever the adult i was with leaving, and then it starting to move backwards, and me being really scared
the weird thing is that it used to always turn out ok, even if i crashed, i dont know somehow i managed to drive it and get by even though it was pretty awful driving…
As for everything in yours, maybe it is life moving a bit out of control, and feeling that people are against you? (this dude with a camera) hmm
